MCT demystified

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

Following previous post about a practical Learning for Microsoft Business Applications Functional and Technical Consultants, this one will demystify MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer).

Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) are the premier technical and instructional experts in Microsoft technologies.

So, if you work in Microsoft Business Applications space as functional or technical consultant, is pretty common that you have an Associate/Expert certification and at the same time you deliver at least one year of training for customers.

Case 1: You have MB-800 (Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate) certification and you delivered at least one year of instructional experience.

Case 2: You have PL-200 (Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant) certification and you delivered at least one year of instructional experience.

And any other certifications listed here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/mct-certification#current-microsoft-certifications-and-qualifications-eligible-for-the-mct-program in combination with at least one year of instructional experience, will allow you to have the conditions to candidate to become a MCT.

After achieving it, you will receive a combinations of benefits https://query.prod.cms.rt.microsoft.com/cms/api/am/binary/RE23o0Z.

You will also have access to MCT Central https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mct-central.aspx that is a dedicated portal for MCTs. You will find different and interesting information about the MCT programme.

If all the above reasons are not enough, be aware the fee was waived since the beginning of the pandemic. This information was confirmed again last 13th Jan 2002 in MCT portal.
